Checked, registered and documented

What we check for each kind of product, who we are registered with, and the papers your shipment carries.

What we check before anything ships

The checks come from your specification and your country's rules. A supplier's general certificate never replaces checking your own goods.

  • Against your specification

Every check is measured against the written specification and the sample you approved.

  • Food: laboratory tests

Moisture, microbiology and pesticide residues tested by an independent laboratory against your market's limits.

  • Food: size and appearance

Size or mesh, colour and foreign matter checked against the approved sample.

  • Packaging: physical tests

Dimensions, fabric weight (GSM), thickness and strength tested against your drawing.

  • Textiles: inspection

Weave, motif, colour fastness, size and finish compared with the approved sample.

  • Before loading

Goods, packing and marks checked before the container is loaded. Your own inspection agency is welcome.

You receive the test or inspection report for your goods before shipment.

The papers that travel with your shipment

The exact set depends on the product and your country. We confirm it with you and our customs broker before we quote.

  • Commercial invoice

Goods, quantities, prices and the agreed price basis.

  • Packing list

Every package with weights, batch numbers and marks.

  • Bill of lading or air waybill

Issued by the shipping line or airline when the goods are loaded.

  • Certificate of origin

Confirms Indian origin; a preferential form where a trade agreement applies.

  • Phytosanitary certificate

For plant products such as onion and raisins, issued by India's plant quarantine service where required.

  • Test or inspection report

Laboratory results for food, or test and inspection results for packaging and textiles.

  • Health or other certificates

Any further certificate your import authority asks for.

  • Insurance certificate

For shipments sold on CIF terms.

Your market's rules come first

Import rules differ by country and by product, and they change. Before we quote, we check the HS code, any import controls, the tests and certificates required, and the labelling rules for your destination.

A trade agreement can lower duty, but it never replaces food safety, plant health or product standards. If a requirement cannot be met, we tell you before you order.

Tell us what you need. We will send a written quotation.

Send the product, grade or size, quantity and destination. We reply by email with prices, timing and the documents your shipment will carry.
